
The winner of the Downbeat Student Best Soloist Award and International Society of Bassist's Jazz Award, Andrew Kratzat has recorded and played with such diverse musicians as Ari Hoenig, Jeremy Kittel, Anat Cohen, and Howard Alden. Kratzat is the newest member of Mack Avenue artist Hot Club of Detroit and has been traveling the continent with them for the past 3 years. He holds down groups as diverse as Argentinean folklore band The Alberto Rojo Trio and Irish jazz/rock/fusion band Millish. Amidst the eclectic projects he has worked on over the past 10 years, Kratzat released his debut solo album "The Dentist" in 2008. Currently, Kratzat is attending Peabody to study with the great bassist and teacher Michael Formanek.
